AnMed Health Rehabilitation Hospital Hosts Community Second Chance Stroke Screening
In the United States, a stroke occurs every 40 seconds. AnMed Health Rehabilitation Hospital will offer a second chance stroke program on Thursday, Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the hospital located at 1 Springback Way.
Second chance stroke screenings provide the expertise to assess how your or a loved one who has endured stroke can overcome physical and cognitive challenges associated with the condition. Whether the stroke occurred recently or years ago, this program may be able to help. The team helps stroke survivors face specific challenges using proven treatments and positive encouragement.
In addition to the screening, experienced staff will provide education on how to prevent a recurrent stroke from occurring. Recurrent stroke makes up about one out of four of the nearly 800,000 strokes experienced in the U.S. every year. The best defense against recurrent stroke is good offense by equipping yourself with information and tips for preventing another stroke and being aware of symptoms and risk factors.
Screenings are provided at no cost and attendees who participate in the sessions will receive a complimentary T-shirt. Spaces are limited. Appointments should be made by calling 864-716-2647.
